That's true for some, yes. But not everyone. For example, you'll not find any of the Bond songs anywhere on CD but here. That was the main reason I've purchased that series in the first place. There are only very, very few songs that should not have been included, IMO ("Gardez l'rhythme" from "Mary Poppins" is plain awful; Akou's "Monkiss" from "Ne nous fâchons pas" is stylistically a heavy break, too). But as I've said before, you won't find Mireille Mathieu's "Les yeus de l'amour" from "Casino Royale" anywhere else on CD. Which is a shame. I'd love to have her renditions in German and Italian as well. But it seems they remain both unavailable outside of the dubbed film versions. Also a marvellous song is Lou Reiner's "L'or se barre" from the French dubbed "The Italian Job" - the melody is completely different from the English song "On days like these". Priceless! | |
